The team are a mix of local business people, designers, hair stylists, make up artists, event managers who are genuinely interested in the prosperity this event will provide for the economy.
The festival brings to life the North Queensland culture and talent showcasing the wonderful destination 184,000 people call home.
TFF will be showcasing the pool of volunteer talent who work behind the scenes to bring together the event. Putting a festival together is no easy feat, but when passion unites, no task is impossible.

Bec Dainer is one of TFF's talented makeup artists who whips up the looks for our models by painting faces, layering palettes of colour and gluing eyelashes like the professional she is backstage, without a scrap of complaint.
Stay tuned over the coming weeks for more behind the scenes peeks into the making of the Townsville Fashion Festival...
Your role on the Townsville Fashion Festival committee:
Coordinator for the Makeup Team.
Fashion industry experience:
I have been involved in various fashion parades, however they do not compare to being on the makeup team in last year’s Townsville Fashion Festival. That was the first time I had been involved in the fashion industry on such an impressive scale and with so many talented designers.Favourite designer:
I would have to say ‘Camilla’ I adore her beautiful Kaftan’s, the prints are so vibrant, full of colour and the designs are so feminine and floaty, they are just stunning!
Style staple:
Comfort comes first for me, I am such a homebody, I prefer flats over a heel, however I do love earrings and prefer to dress up a simple outfit with a nice big pair of dangly earrings. Unless of course I had a ‘Camilla’ Kaftan in my closet, that would be a style staple on its own.
Why do you live in Townsville:
I was born here in Townsville so it’s always been home to me, I have moved away with my family in the past but have always come back. It’s the big country...small city town, with everything I need, half my family if here, the sunshine, laid back lifestyle, cyclones and all I don’t need to live anywhere else.
2013 TFF Event I’m most looking forward to:
The opening night on Thursday 24th October is where the Hair and Makeup team get to unleash the creative, so I am really excited to show what we can do as a group that night. However I do look forward to the Runway Show on the Friday night the most, it’s a buzz being backstage and being amongst the action. There’s this high energy and constant race out back to make everything work out, yet so calm and cool on the runway, call me crazy, but I love that chaos!!
